Dr. Evans represented Sewanee at the first ever meeting of Southeastern Partners in Plant Conservation (SePPCon) held at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, November 1-3, 2016. The purpose of the meeting was to bring together government agencies, land managers, botanical gardens, university programs, and botanical experts to inform each other on best practices and topics relevant to rare plant conservation and form a cohesive network of resources to support regional efforts for at-risk & listed plant species in the Southeastern U.S. Dr. Evans is member of the planning committee for the formation of a Tennessee Plant Conservation Alliance and this group had its first meeting on Nov. 3 at the SePPCon meeting.
