Sewanee Receives Tropical Plant Collection From Vanderbilt
The Biology Department's Webb Greenhouse in Woods Lab is now home to a marvelous gift of over 200 species of tropical plants from the Vanderbilt University greenhouses formerly managed by Sewanee alum, Jonathan Ertelt. Jonathan was tasked with redistributing the plants when it was announced by the Vanderbilt administration that the greenhouse space would be eliminated in the creation of new science research facilities. Dr. Evans will oversee the curation of this living plant collection and will be assisted by the Herbarium Fellows. The plant collection will now be featured in several of the classes that Evans teaches at Sewanee.
