Titan Arum, aka "Corpse Flower" is blooming!

Our Titan Arum started blooming on the Fourth of July! Here is a live webcam link. It emerged from its corm in Woods Greenhouse on June 1 and had reached a height of 7ft when it opened! This is the first time this 8 year old plant has bloomed. Native to the rainforests of Borneo, it was started from seed by Jonathan Ertelt and was part of the plant collection he arranged for us to receive from Vanderbilt. Story of this collection was a recent Sewanee Feature.
