Herbarium Hosts Forest Roundtable

The Herbarium hosted an in-person and virtual roundtable discussion at Sewanee about the importance of old-growth forest protection in the Southeast. It connected forest advocates with scientists and shined a spotlight on the importance of old-growth for biodiversity protection and for sequestering carbon to mitigate climate change. My Advanced Conservation Biology students helped to coordinate the event and they presented posters highlighting the value of old-growth forests on the Cumberland Plateau.
